    Black Cat Magic

Black cats often face unfair misconceptions, leading to lower adoption rates and misunderstandings about their true nature. To highlight the adorable qualities of these cats and encourage more compassion, we teamed up with Kimchi the Adventure Cat for a special Halloween celebration in honor of National Black Cat Day on October 27, 2024. This festive event showcased the beauty and charm of black cats, featuring a poster exhibit highlighting local cat rescue efforts, engaging activities for children, and an auction that raised $200 for the Montreal SPCA. Together, we celebrated black cats and worked toward a brighter future for them.

    Story Hour: Fantastic Felines

We were thrilled to host our second Meowseum event, “Story Hour: Fantastic Felines,” in partnership with Bibliothèque Le Prevost! On August 3, 2024, we celebrated International Cat Day, which falls on August 8, with a purr-fectly enchanting event tailored for young children. The morning was filled with feline fun, captivating the little ones with a storytelling session. They also participated in “Jean Dit” (the Quebec version of Simon Says), stretched out with cat-inspired yoga, and crafted their own bookmarks. Face painting turned them into cats, and a special exhibit explored the fascinating world of cats in literature. It was a magical celebration of our furry friends, and truly the cat’s meow!
